LA HAINE POSTER ANALYSIS
This poster as like adulthood has a main black background which is supposed to represent negativity, anger and evil. What I like about this poster is the extreme close up of black male’s eyes which have hate in them this complements the title La Haine as it is French for the hate but also shows him on top of the title. This could have been done to show that he is rising from the hate or that he is above this hate. Also notice the police are in the photo at the bottom while he is at he top which is a complete contrast in real society where police are normally on top. Also you see three pictures right at the bottom giving this poster a bit of a chaotic and busy feel about it which gives us the audience a sense that their will be action in this movie.
The title is in all capitals with a bold white font which stands out against the black in the background. It also tells the audience that it has been nominated for the 1995 Cannes film festival award. As this movie has no a list actors they are in small print at the bottom of the poster. Also the strap line in English means so far so good. This tells the audience that there are many problems and twists in the film, with the pictures at the bottom giving an idea of the problems.
